I am a singer - songwriter and performer as well as a graphic designer. In the fall of 2019, my band, The Ramshackle Parade, and I recorded and released an interpretation album of Bob Dylan tunes – called “Just Like A Woman – Songs of Bob Dylan”. The cover/poster art is a collaboration with one of my favorite east coast graphic design artists, Jud Haynes. After years of swooning over Jud’s design work, I finally got to meet him in Halifax at a Luncheon during the 2018 East Coast Music Awards, where we were both up for the ‘Visual Artist of the Year’ award. I commissioned Jud to design a flower power, 60’s-70’s vibe illustration for the Dylan record project. Jud mixed his illustration with inspiration pulled from the organic poster designs of art nouveau artist Alphonse Mucha, and the iconic poster art of Dylan, designed in the late 60’s, by Milton Glaser.  I created the lettering in the image. NB photographer, Mark Hemmings took the photos for this project - we went for a Basement Tapes/The Band vibe for this shoot. I love how the cover illustration and photos compliment each other and came together for the branding and layout of this album project.
